Dr. Moavenian

Dr. Moavenian

Nader Moavenian, DDS, graduated from the University of Toronto and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Michigan in 1996. He completed an internship in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his specialty training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Woodhull Medical Center in New York City. His training included five years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training.

Dr. Moavenian is a full scope oral and maxillofacial surgeon with expertise ranging from dental implants to corrective jaw surgery, facial injuries, wisdom teeth removal, and pediatric and adolescent oral surgery. Dr. Moavenian is a leading expert in the field of dental implants and frequently lectures on this subject. He also has a special interest in management of wisdom teeth and general anesthesia. His offices are state-of-the-art surgical facilities equipped with the most current sterilization, anesthesia monitoring, and imaging equipment. He and his staff are committed to providing compassionate care of the highest quality, in a timely and considerate manner.

Dr. Moavenian is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is an active member of the Greater Nashua Dental Society, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Dental Association. He is also a fellow of the American Society of Dental Anesthesia. As an active member of the hospital staff at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, and Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Dr. Moavenian provides emergency care to patients with complex maxillofacial trauma. He is regularly re-certified in Basic Life Support (CPR) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Dr. Moavenian enjoys spending time with his wife Kristin, and his wonderful children, Isabel and Aidan. His hobbies include skiing, kayaking, triathlons and tennis.

Dr. Ahson

Dr. Ahson

Dr. Imran Ahson, MD, DMD, lives and works in the greater Massachusetts/New Hampshire area. Originally born and raised in Florida, Dr. Ahson completed his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Florida. During his time there, he worked extensively with the Center for Implant Dentistry, and created technology that assisted in implant design. He went on to complete dental school, medical school, and surgical residency at the University of Florida, as well as a fellowship in Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery at the Florida Craniofacial Institute. His training included extensive experience in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery as well as craniofacial surgery; and has written and lectured nationally on various topics in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

 In addition to working at NHOMS, Dr. Ahson is a Clinical Professor at Tufts University, and is passionate about using his skills to help underserved populations. He travels yearly to provide healthcare and cleft lip/palate surgeries in developing countries including Bangladesh, Guatemala, Pakistan, Thailand, and Ecuador.

Dr. Bean

Dr. Bean

Although having practiced in New Hampshire in the past, Dr. Jonathan Bean is a South Carolina native. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Harding University where he was a Trustee Scholarship Recipient for academic achievement. He attended dental school at The Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine where he received honors in the field of Oral Surgery. Dr. Bean completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery internship at University of Kentucky, followed by his residency at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Dr. Bean is board certified by the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and he practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He has significant clinical experience in dental implants, including immediate dental implant placement, and full arch restorations. He is certified in Basic Life Support (CPR), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Dr. Bean maintains professional memberships in The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and several other local dental organizations.  

Emergency care for patients with complex maxillofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, and other hospital-based care are also areas of interest of Dr. Bean. He has worked in several New Hampshire hospitals in the past, and is looking to renew these privileges. 

When he is not working, Dr. Bean enjoys fishing, running, college football, and spending time with his wife and his three children.

Dr. Schonfield

Dr. Schonfield

An upstate New York native, Zachary J. Schonfield attended Hobart and William Smith Colleges where he studied biology. His interest in marine science led him abroad to Australia. He relocated to Baltimore where he attended the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society. Dr. Schonfield went on to complete a six-year dual degree oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center where he earned his medical degree in 2016. His education and training included dental extractions including wisdom teeth, dental implants, pathology, orthognathic surgery, TMJ surgery, and extensive maxillofacial trauma at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.

After initially returning home to New York, Dr. Schonfield is looking forward to serving the New England community. In his free time, Dr. Schonfield is an avid scuba diver and enjoys photography and traveling with his wife.

Dr. Reich

Dr. Reich

Dr. Peter P. Reich, DMDH, earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts, and Doctor of Medical Dentistry from Tufts University, Boston, MA. He then continued his training at Johns Hopkins Hospital where he worked for two years serving as the chief resident in his last year. Dr. Reich completed his hospital-based specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Seton Hall University. Dr. Reich is a board-certified oral surgeon and has been in private practice on the seacoast since 2002 and maintains his office in Dover, NH.

Dr. Fahmy

Dr. Mina D. Fahmy was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta in Canada. He graduated with Distinction from the University of Alberta and continued his training by earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Summa Cum Laude from Marquette University in 2018. Dr. Fahmy was then selected to complete Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year.

His passion for education and advancement of the field has led him to conduct numerous scientific studies and publish over 35 peer reviewed articles and textbook chapters. He has lectured across the country on a number of topics, including 3D bio-printing, pathology, and tissue engineering. In addition, his interest in the nutrition of his patients before and after surgery prompted him to obtain a Master of Science degree in Medical Nutrition. 

During his extensive surgical training, Dr. Fahmy has become proficient in areas of head and neck oncology/pathology, facial trauma, orthognathics, facial cosmetics, nerve repair, dental implants, and wisdom teeth removal. He has also received substantial training in both office based and general hospital anesthesia. Currently, he is practicing full scope and pain free oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Dr. Fahmy is a member of American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ACOMS), and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS). He is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). 

When not working, Dr. Fahmy enjoys cooking and spending time in nature, camping, hiking, and kayaking with friends and family.

Dr. Dyrkacz

Dr. Paul M. Dyrkacz was born and raised in Massachusetts and is happy to continue practicing in New England. On a personal level, Dr. Dyrkacz is a caring, compassionate, sincere individual with a professional and courteous chairside manner. Dr. Dyrkacz attended Williams College at Williamstown where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. He continued his training at University of Connecticut where he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. During that time, he traveled to Honduras, where he took care of underserved pediatric and adult patients as well as participated in several research activities. His research in bone and tooth stem cells led to publication in the Journal of Dental Research and was honored with multiple awards by the University and Connecticut Dental Association.

Following dental school Dr. Dyrkacz completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Connecticut. The training provided during his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency included the full scope of oral surgery, orthognathic surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery, cleft and craniofacial surgery, major head and neck trauma, general anesthesia IV sedation, facial cosmetic surgery, dental implants, bone grafts, dental alveolar surgery, full arch fixed construction, and treatment of wisdom teeth. 

Outside of work, he loves spending time with his family and friends and enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and swimming.  

Dr. Courtney

Dr. Courtney

Dr. Courtney is a Massachusetts native, raised in a family of dentists and periodontists, including those in his immediate and extended family. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Boston University and afterwards, attended Boston University’s School of Dental Medicine, where he received his DMD. While in dental school, Dr. Courtney participated in numerous research opportunities, including publications focused on the success and viability of dental implants in medically compromised patients and studies concerning salivary gland pathology.

Thereafter, Dr. Courtney completed his medical school training at Jefferson’s Medical College in Philadelphia, PA achieving his M.D. and continued his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program training at Thomas Jefferson University Medical College in Philadelphia, PA.  During residency, Dr. Courtney engaged in significant research programs, including participation at the SLEEP conference where he promoted studies concerning management of obstructive sleep apnea. He also conducted interdepartmental lectures within the university hospital. Dr. Courtney continues to lecture within the dental community on sleep apnea to update current dental and medical professionals on management and treatment options. Following residency, Dr. Courtney pursued fellowship training with a focus on orthognathic jaw reconstruction, full arch rehabilitation with dental implants and reconstructive TMJ surgery in Charlotte, NC with Dr. Brian Farrell and his surgical team. 

Dr. Courtney endeavors to continue his career with an interest in full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with a focus on orthognathic surgery, trauma, temporomandibular joint dysfunction, obstructive sleep apnea and full arch rehabilitation with dental implants. Dr. Courtney is board certified and a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a member of ABOMS, ACOMS, ADA and in pursuit of joining the MSOMS. 

Outside of work he enjoys spending time with family, golfing and biking.

Dr. Kim

Dr. Kim

Dr. Jaegak Kim completed his undergraduate study with honors in Biophysics. He then pursued a Master of Science in Cell and Developmental Biology from the University of British Columbia, Canada. His academic interest for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery arose unintentionally after he was treated as a patient for jaw infection. Dr. Kim then moved to Boston to obtain a Doctor of Dental Medicine from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and with the prestigious induction to Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU).

Dr. Kim then further progressed his training by undertaking an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Boston University Medical Center. His surgical training was robust and has prepared him for a wide variety of surgical cases practicing the full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He holds a keen interest in dentoalveolar surgery including extractions, dental implants and bone grafts, orthognathic jaw surgery and IV sedations. He is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). 

In his free time, he likes to spend time with his wife Mina and their son Yul. He passionately enjoys playing and watching soccer. He is also fond of trying and experiencing different food cultures and restaurants in the Boston metro area. He is fluent in both Korean and English. 

Dr. Keyser

Dr. Keyser

Dr. Benjamin Keyser is dedicated to serving his patients at the highest standard of care in all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Implant dentistry. He believes in providing compassionate care, prioritizing patients safety, comfort, and clinical excellence. He prides himself in making sure that every patient feels welcome in the office and at ease prior, during, and after their oral surgery appointment.

Dr. Keyser was born and raised in the greater Boston area and is a Magnum Cum Laude graduate of Colby College in Maine with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. He then completed his dental training at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He continued his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at the University of Maryland Medical Center, R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, and the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and Medicine where he was exposed to the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) ranging from wisdom teeth, complex implant, and sinus lift surgery to orthognathic, TMJ, trauma, and head and neck oncologic surgery. During his residency, he also received his medical degree and served as chief resident in his final year of training.

He has received further training in cosmetic surgery including Botox® and dermal fillers as well as in complex implant surgery such as All-on-X and zygomatic implant surgery.

He is a board-certified diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and a member of Massachusetts Dental Society. He maintains hospital privileges at Lowell General Hospital and Winchester Hospital and attends multiple courses yearly to provide the highest level of care possible.

He has now returned to his hometown of Newton and joined Mass OMS to serve the communities that he grew up in. He holds an active
Massachusetts medical, dental, and dental anesthesiology license and performs in-office IV sedation. He has also authored multiple articles pertaining to maxillofacial pathology and TMJ surgery in the most prestigious Oral Maxillofacial Journals (JOMS, IJOMS, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics) and has lectured locally and nationally on multiple topics within Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Outside of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, he is passionate about skiing, golf, biking, working out, playing guitar, spending time with his family, and rooting on all the Boston sports teams. He looks forward to welcoming you to his office.
